Yep, MAKs must be activated and it counts against a total limit for that key. I'd like to know how many times a Technet copy can be activated too. I haven't fooled with the Technet Vista much yet, but I'm starting to fool around with the Technet Server in my test lab. I've begun tinkering with VMs of in Hyper-V There seems to be no issue so far and I've probably created 6 or 8 physical and virtual boxes.
But I'd hate to run into a brick wall at say 10 or whatever without knowing about it. I seem to remember the number being or maybe much higher, but don't quote me. Well, if KMS needs at least 25 hosts, and Technet is limited to 10 activations As I watched in a cool little movie, the first 4 will fail, but 5th? Watch out mother fucker, it's on! Software Assurance is yet another separate program with several levels. Neither Software Assurance nor the several levels of it are described. There is a tantalizing description, though, that depending on the level you have, you might get a free license of Technet Direct. This is impossible to verify, because there is no description of SA or which level of SA you would need to get this free license of Technet.
Then, you can either purchase Technet directly not to be confused with Technet Direct, which itself is not described , or through SA. But this isn't described either. Sign in. United States English. Ask a question.
