I think the original software did work on XP. I bought this around Eventually I would rather get a new PDA with pocket viewer type functions and not video or audio or excel, etc. Mainly I just want to store text and large amounts of it along with a 'tablet' mode where I could write and store notes on the PDA blank screen with the plastic 'stylus'--pen.

I know I saw a full size clipboard which records your handwriting as you write on a sheet of paper on top of it. At the moment I don't know where to get that clipboard other than checking back with a newegg or tigerdirect catalog. If anyone knows about that kind of clipboard device please let me know since it cost about the same as my old PDA and allows for writing on a full sheet of paper instead of just the small PDA screen.

Squashman Retired Trusted Advisor. Finding a replacement cradle may be a bit difficult. If anyone knows any other way of syncing up with XP…please share…. I just found my PV-s in bottom of storage box.

I cannot locate the manual nor any driver software. Can you help me? I also stumbled across my PV-S Plus. Still works great. As it turns out, this was my second Casio and I have two cradles which I would be willing to part with.

I have the casio pv s plus and have lost the manual, would like to know where I can download a copy of one. Also, I would like to hook it up to my pc, but am not able to because of the connection on the cradle, I do not have that connection on my pc. Thanks, any information would be great. I have a PV-s plus, i am looking for the pinout details of the connector located underneath it, used for connecting to the cradle. Can anyone tell me where can i get a cradle these days?.

Thankx in advance. My Un-updatable sharp got flooded in Bismark and there went the screen and thus my addresses. Purchased under the assumption I could save the address on a computer, per the ad. I have the cradle but it is not adaptable to a newer HP. I also have Vista YUK so am not sure what the end results would be after connection.

I see other postings about this problem but no solution s. I have the manual but it is not very descriptive. For example can you use a USB connection to the ? Can anyone help? Let me know if I can help. Great post, I conceive people should learn a lot from this site its rattling user pleasant. So much wonderful info on here :D. I have been using the Casio line for years with over 2K entries in my PV plus.

Can I easily transfer my data to Outlook? Thanks Jeff. Just unearth the PV-SPlus, 4mb. Put in frest batteries and am trying to master it. No manual. Any basic directions would help. Annmar Lang. I use it all the time. Help all my data is on it.

I have the cradle and the software is on my computer. Can it operate with out the batteries causing it to come on? Only problem…cannot sync with any new operating system. Very rarely, plopping same batteries out then in will give me the alignment screen. But, then PV-S finicky about staying on. Unfortunately, it's not a very comfortable niche to be in these days as basic organizers become ever more powerful and low-end Palm and Windows CE devices ever less expensive.

To Casio's credit, the company continues to fine-tune its entry-level line of pen-based "Pocket Viewer" connected organizers. We reviewed the PV and PV in our February issue and found them to be decent low cost entries into the world of pen computing. We liked the form factor and very light weight just 4. The PVA is very slightly larger and heavier 5. The Pocket Viewer now looks more like a "real" PDA than just a regular organizer though it still feels more plasticky than a Palm or Handspring device.

Even though it is the same size, the high contrast monochrome screen of the new unit looks larger. That means everything looks tighter and crisper than before, screens are more legible, and most of the Viewer's applications have additional on-screen features or options without looking more cluttered.

The start-up screen now features eight instead of six application icons, adding Quick Memo which used to be accessible via the silk screen menu below the display and the new Currency Converter application.
