As an upper-level disturbance pushes away from the area, clouds leftover from Thursday should clear with sunshine as we round out the work week today. Cold won't be here yet, so plan on highs around 50 with a strong breeze from time to time this afternoon.
A cold front starts to slide down the east coast today, but the cold air won't be here until tomorrow, but once it arrives, it starts laying the groundwork for our winter storm on Sunday. Saturday, clouds will build back in as our storm system makes its way toward the Carolinas. A few snow showers are possible Saturday afternoon and evening but those likely wouldn't cause any issues. Saturday is cold with highs only in the 30s. Use Saturday to make final preparations for Sunday.
By Sunday, our winter storm approaches, starting as snow between about 5A-9A, some of it could fall quite heavy, then transitioning to a period of sleet and possibly even freezing rain by afternoon.
